There are two parameters which govern the lift produced by an airfoil: Chamber, and Angle of Attack. These effects are easily predictable within certain limits. Drag is much more difficult to predict so we will focus on Lift....
Hunting with boomerang by Boomerang Talk
This happened yesterday morning. While an MTA is hovering, a small bird flew by. Then, it made a sudden Uturn and tried to attack (?) the stick. Unfortunately, 4"/50g bird was no match to the 20g spinning stick. It fell and fluttered for a few minutes, but it died peacefully on my palm. There was no blood or wound, just a blunt trauma....

Taking a red eye from Vancouver to Dallas just to arrive hours before the competition starts is usually no problem. Add a 16 month old lap child to the mix and the journey becomes tiresome....
High-tech MTAs by Manuel Schuetz
Here's a selection of the carbon composite MTAs (Maximum Tima Aloft) I've made in the past 6 years. One of the twobladers has been thrown by Arnaud Tribillon (F), to set a new world record in MTA unlimited - The boomerang stayed in the air for3min 10sec! [update: since this article, Betsylew Miale Gix has improved the MTA unlimited record with a similar boomerang, it was not a Manu though]...
